Independent Assessment & Digital Passport Services
Professional care for the piece and the information that accompanies it. These conditions apply when you separately commission an assessment, report or Digital Passport service; they do not turn services included in a product purchase into a separate contract merely by giving them another name.

1. Your service confirmation
The confirmation identifies MAISON ENTERPRISE LTD, trading as Maison Designers, as service provider, your piece, the commissioned checks, method, deliverable, price, taxes and start arrangements. Our address is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. Contact Maison through the published Contact Us route with your reference.
A quotation is distinguished from an accepted commission. Additional examination, repair, laboratory work, valuation or documentation outside the agreed scope requires prior agreement on scope and price. General descriptions of possible features are not a promise that every commission includes them.
2. What the fee pays for
The agreed professional fee remunerates expertise, responsibility and the examination and result promised, not only a supplier's direct invoice. A properly supported negative finding can be the commissioned result; the fee is not contingent on a favourable authenticity outcome, a sale, insurer acceptance or a desired valuation. An inconclusive result fulfils the commission only where the agreed scope allows it and the promised work was properly done.
The fee does not become earned merely because a record was opened. Work performed, the promised report and supply to its proper recipient are assessed against the accepted scope. A payment, blockchain entry or internal status does not alone prove performance or delivery. Defective or unperformed services retain their applicable remedies.
3. Your information and the physical piece
You confirm your right to commission the work and provide accurate information and available supporting documents. Disclose known alterations, replacement components, repairs, treatment, damage and uncertainty material to the assessment. Do not supply fabricated provenance or conceal a known concern.
Identity, title or payer information may be requested where necessary for an actual legal, provider or proportionate security purpose. The request explains the appropriate route and a reasonable deadline. Tell Maison promptly if information is unavailable or access fails. Review time within Maison is not your submission delay.
4. Handling and specialist work
Any custody, transport, insurance or physical handling is agreed for the actual piece and destination. Permission to inspect does not automatically authorise polishing, repair, destructive testing, opening a sealed component or sending the piece elsewhere at additional cost. Relevant methods and limits must be agreed before such action.
Maison may use appropriate specialist or technology support for the commissioned service while remaining responsible for its own commitments. No access to a manufacturer's private database, brand endorsement, laboratory result or provider relationship is implied unless actually confirmed.
5. Findings and the Passport
The report identifies the assessment supplied and its evidential limits. Authenticity, condition, ownership, service history, monetary valuation and insurance cover are different subjects. The service does not promise that every historic component is original, that no undisclosed title claim can ever arise or that the item will appreciate, unless a specific additional commitment is expressly agreed.
Where included, the Passport organises the agreed item identity, condition reference, authentication or appraisal information and documents. Record preparation, issuance, recipient access and ownership assignment are separate steps. A token, verification link, QR or NFC feature is included only where confirmed for the service. Technology does not replace physical assessment.
6. Access, correction and permitted use
The confirmation identifies the document and access supplied, any verification feature and the intended recipient. A report belongs to the agreed service scope; use by an insurer or another third party may depend on that party's requirements. No guarantee of its acceptance is made merely by describing the record as helpful for insurance or resale.
You may request correction of an error or explain a concern through Client Care. A record may be corrected, restricted, marked returned or reassigned where legitimately needed to reflect the piece or an unresolved issue. Historic evidence is preserved where lawful; a status change does not itself remove a right to a document, remedy or refund. Optional future updates and hosting arrangements are those actually agreed, not an unconditional promise of perpetual free support.
7. Starting during a consumer cancellation period
Where an applicable consumer cancellation period covers the service, Maison begins within that period only on the required express request after supplying the necessary information. For an eligible UK distance service contract, the usual period ends 14 calendar days after the day the contract is entered into, subject to a mandatory extension.
If you validly request early supply and then cancel, a lawful proportion of the agreed service price may be due for what was actually supplied before your cancellation notice. The calculation follows the applicable rules. Loss of the service cancellation right after full performance also requires the applicable prior acknowledgement; accepting general terms alone does not establish it.
This section records the conditions that must be met; it is not itself your express request or acknowledgement. If they are not met, Maison does not treat the whole fee as non-refundable merely because work started. Your separate rights relating to goods remain unaffected.
8. Cancellation and inability to continue
Use a clear statement through a legally available contact route if you wish to cancel. No particular account action or return reference is a universal condition. We explain the work supplied, any amount lawfully payable, any item return arrangements and the refund due under the applicable rules.
Where necessary information remains unavailable, Maison may pause the dependent work and explain the next step. Ending the commission requires its contractual or legal basis. Missing documentation alone does not create an automatic penalty or prove that the service was completed. An amount for work properly authorised and supplied is considered separately from damages for an established breach and separately from any lawful deduction.
9. Independent services and product-sale remedies
An independent examination of an item you already own is different from a remedy for a piece sold under Maison's authenticity commitment. Where a goods remedy or binding guarantee requires reimbursement, Maison does not reduce it by retrospectively relabelling part of the purchase as this independent service. Continuing Buyer Protection is not all completed by preparing initial Passport documentation.
10. Business commissions
A genuine professional commission follows its accepted commercial confirmation and applicable B2B Terms. There is no general consumer cooling-off right for a genuinely business transaction. Properly earned professional remuneration and authorised irrecoverable commitments remain payable as agreed; work not performed, credits due and other recoveries are accounted for. A business label does not remove consumer status where the actual commission is consumer.
11. Records, privacy and concerns
Maison uses relevant item, communication, assessment, supply and payment records to perform the service, answer a concern and meet lawful obligations. Personal data are handled under the Privacy Policy, with appropriate access, sharing and retention. Private identity documents are not made public merely because the piece has a public-safe verification record.
Maison explains a relevant finding and considers proportionate supporting evidence. Its own opinion is not made final in law. Nothing excludes mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. The law of England and Wales applies subject to mandatory protections and court-access rules; genuinely business limitations apply only where validly agreed and enforceable.
