Maison Designers
AML and KYC Policy
Maison Designers applies risk-based identity, sanctions, fraud-prevention and source-of-funds controls for high-value luxury transactions, reseller activity and selected auction or cross-border orders.
1. Purpose
Luxury goods can be high-value, portable and resaleable. AML/KYC controls protect clients, sellers, payment providers, acquirers, insurers and Maison Designers from fraud, sanctions exposure, money laundering and financial crime risk.
2. When checks may apply
Verification may be requested for purchases above EUR 5,000, purchases above EUR 10,000, unusual order patterns, mismatched billing or shipping details, third-party payments, high-risk jurisdictions, freight forwarder or temporary delivery requests, sanctions alerts, PEP indicators, reseller or B2B activity, auction winning bids, provider requests or any elevated-risk transaction.
3. Documents that may be requested
Maison Designers may request passport or national ID, proof of address, company documents, beneficial ownership information, payment confirmation, payer authorization, source-of-funds evidence, source-of-wealth explanation, delivery authorization or other documents reasonably required by payment, fraud-prevention, insurance or legal controls.
4. Enhanced due diligence
Enhanced review may apply to politically exposed persons, unusual payment routes, third-party payers, multiple failed attempts, high-risk jurisdictions, complex ownership structures, reseller activity, high-value watches, jewellery or exotic-skin bags, or transactions flagged by a provider, bank, wallet or fraud tool.
5. Refusal or cancellation
Maison Designers may refuse, pause, cancel, refund, decline to ship, decline final Digital Passport issuance, suspend auction settlement or close a support request when identity cannot be verified, documents are incomplete or unreliable, sanctions or fraud risk is identified, source of funds is unclear, provider approval is not obtained or risk cannot be resolved.
6. Data handling and retention
Verification data is processed for compliance, fraud prevention, payment review, dispute handling and legal obligations. It may be shared with payment providers, banks, identity verification providers, fraud-prevention vendors, logistics partners, insurers, advisers or authorities where required or lawful.
7. Compliance maintenance
Maison Designers may update AML/KYC thresholds, restricted-country handling, document requests, fraud-prevention controls, provider checks and retention practices for future transactions.
